On Tuesday, 14 October 2025, the African Inclusive Markets Excellence Centre (AIMEC) was officially launched in Tunis during a meeting held at the Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX). The event brought together representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Trade and Export Development, CEPEX officials, and AIMEC’s Executive Director, Mr. Youssef El Kordafani.

AIMEC, an African Union institution, serves as a continental platform to promote inclusive and sustainable markets across Africa. It focuses on developing policies, sharing best practices, and building capacities to enhance access to African markets—particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Tunisian authorities reaffirmed their strong commitment to supporting AIMEC’s establishment, recognizing its role in advancing intra-African trade, empowering the private sector, and fostering regional integration. Mr. El Kordafani expressed appreciation for Tunisia’s warm reception and facilitation, emphasizing AIMEC’s mission to strengthen innovation, cooperation, and knowledge-sharing in line with the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
