Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - 27 January 2017: – H.E. Mrs. Fatima Haram Acyl, African Union Commissioner for Trade and Industry and HE Mr. Bruce Shepherd, Ambassador of New Zealand to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the African Union, launched the 2017 edition of the African Union Handbook on 27 January 2017.

AUC Chairperson bids farewell to Commission on the Status of Women
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 28 January 2017: The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, officially closed the Africa Ministerial Pre-Consultative Meeting on the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) on 27 January 2017.
Dr Dlamini Zuma officially bid farewell to CSW on her capacity as Chairperson of the AUC and thanked UN Women for supporting and working with her during her tenure as Chairperson and putting forward the plight of women.
AU Commission Chairperson meets with Cuban Vice President
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 27 January 2017: The African Union Commission Chairperson, H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma met with the Vice President of Cuba, H. E. Mr. Salvador Valdes Mesa, on 27 January 2017, on the margins of the 28th Assembly of Heads of State and Government taking place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Chairperson and the Vice President discussed relationship between the African Union and Cuba.
DR. NKOSAZANA DLAMINI ZUMA CONDEMNS TERRORIST ATTACK ON AMISOM BASE AND COMMENDS AMISOM FORCES FOR SWIFT ACTION
Addis Ababa, 27 January 2017: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, strongly condemns the terrorist attack perpetrated this morning on an AMISOM camp at Kolbiyow, in Lower Juba, Somalia.
AMISOM troops have valiantly repulsed the attack by Al Shabaab terrorists who tried to storm the camp using Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIED). The AMISOM troops in the camp have since been reinforced and are currently undertaking a clearing and stabilization operation.
