The Republic of Madagascar becomes the fourth AU member states that have signed the Treaty for the establishment of the African Medicine Agency (AMA) on 1 August 2019 during the 3rd Ordinary Session of the Specialized Technical Committee on Health, Population and Drug Control (STC-HPDC-3), in Cairo, Egypt. The AMA treaty was adopted by Heads of State and Government during their 32nd Ordinary Session of the Assembly on 11 February 2019 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

In line with the decision of the African Union Ministers of Communication and Information Communication Technologies (STCCICT) of 2017, which resolved to, among others, recognize the contributions of journalists towards the achievement of Agenda 2063, five African women journalists have been awarded grants to enable them to produce detailed stories in key sectors of Africa’s development under Agenda 2063.
