Addis Ababa, 5 April 2019: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, is deeply concerned by the heightened tension currently prevailing in Libya. He calls on all parties to respect the lives and safety of civilians, and to resume, without delay, the inclusive political dialogue for the swift resolution of the crisis in the country.

The Chairperson of the Commission warns against any foreign interference in Libya's internal affairs.

The Chairperson of the Commission reaffirms, as he stressed during his visit to Libya on 1 and 2 April 2019, the full solidarity of the African Union with the Libyan people.
