AUC Chairperson welcomes the signing of MOU between Rwanda and Uganda

22 August 2019, Addis Abeba: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat welcomes the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to improve the political and economic relations between the governments of Rwanda and Uganda that took place in Luanda, Angola on Wednesday.

The Chairperson commends the leadership shown by President Paul Kagame and President Yoweri Museveni to resolve their differences through dialogue in the spirit of regional cooperation.

The Chairperson further commends the facilitation role played by President João Lourenço of Angola, President Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo and President Denis Sassou Nguesso of Congo-Brazzaville in his capacity as Chair of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR).
