Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

Brussels, Belgium, 14 December 2017- As the African Union continues to step up its exchanges with African countries of origin to provide consular services to their nationals in Libya and granting of landing rights and neighbouring countries to grant over flight permits. The AU also welcomes and encourages its Member States to receive and resettle refugees and asylum seekers who cannot go back to their countries of origin and further welcomes those Member States that have offered logistic support to the evacuation exercise.

Mr. Moussa Faki Mahammat, attend Africa 2017 Forum, which was held in Sharm el Sheikh from 7-9th December 2017, under the high patronage of H.E. President Abdel Fatah Al Sisi.

The Department of Trade and Industry of the African Union Commission organized the Expert Working Group Meeting on Enterprise Africa Network under the theme: “Designing and Implementing SMEs Online Platforms through Public Private Partnership”. The main objective of the event is to propose a Roadmap with priority issues for the establishment of the African Entrepreneurial Network Flagship Project.

Swakopmund, Namibia, December 13, 2017 – The 2017 PIDA Week ended in Swakopmund, Namibia, Wednesday with delegates calling on Member States to commit themselves to the development of Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) projects on the ground and to renew their focus to infrastructure development in rural and remote areas, among other things.
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 6 December 2017 - The African Union Commission (AUC), on Monday 4th December 2017, organized a dinner-debate, in commemoration of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. This high-level event took place at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in the presence of Representatives of the Diplomatic Corps, AU officials, UN Agencies, the African Union Partners' Group (AUPG) and International Organisations. The day marked the international campaign to end violence against women and girls.

The Event was organized jointly by the Embassy of the State of Palestine, UNECA, the African Union Commission, and the League of Arab States. The event marks the 40th Anniversary of the Commemoration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people.
