African experts have convened in Lusaka to deliberate on regional priorities in preparation for the 2020 Africa-France Summit, billed for 4-6 June 2020 in Bordeaux, France on the theme of “Better Cities, Better Lives” co-hosted by the African Union Commission, the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).

The maiden Pan African Conference on Children and Armed Conflict commenced today in Addis Ababa at the UN Conference Center. The three-day conference brought together children from Mali, South Sudan, Nigeria, Ethiopia and the Democratic Republic of Congo to demand immediate and specific actions from decision-makers on the continent to address their plight and fashion-out mechanisms for better protection of children affected by armed conflict and war in Africa.

Ahead of the General Elections scheduled to hold on 15 October 2019 in the Republic of Mozambique, H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat has approved the deployment of forty (40) short-term observers and 4 electoral experts.
