March 10, 2020COVID-19 Scientific and Public Health Policy Update – 10 March 2020A highly preliminary population genetic analyses of 103 SARS-CoV-2 genomes indicates that the viruses could have evolved into two major types (designated L and S) and that the L type (newer and more aggressive) initially was more prevalent, but its frequency decreased after the end of January as more severe selective pressure was placed on it.
