H.E. Dr. ALASTAIR McPHAIL’S, the New Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the African Union, Presents His Letters of Credence to the Chairperson of the African Union Commission
Addis Ababa, 04 February 2019 – The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, received the credentials of H.E. Dr. Alastair McPhail’s, the new Ambassador of the United Kingdom (UK), at the AU Commission Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The Chairperson said ‘Our partnership is strong, we should strengthen it further’. He then confirmed receipt of letter sent by the Prime Minister of the UK, Mrs Theresa May, on the reinforcement of the relationship between the Commission and the UK.
AU-ILO-IOM-ECA Hold Steering Committee Meeting on Labour Migration
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 29 January, 2019: In order to help solve the issues of migration when it comes to the abuse and violations of human rights of migrants and refugees on the African Continent, the African Union Commission (AU), International Labour Migration (ILO), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Economic Commission for Africa (EAC) have organize a two day Steering Committee meeting on Labour Migration Governance for Development and Integration (better known as the Joint Labour Migration Programme, or JLMP) in Africa at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The African Union and Norway signs new Strategic Partnership Agreement
Norway and the African Union (AU) have signed a three-year cooperation agreement, with a framework of NOK 180 million (USD 21 million) over three years, to strengthen the political dialogue and cooperation between Norway and the AU.
