Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 28 January 2017: The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, officially closed the Africa Ministerial Pre-Consultative Meeting on the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) on 27 January 2017.

Dr Dlamini Zuma officially bid farewell to CSW on her capacity as Chairperson of the AUC and thanked UN Women for supporting and working with her during her tenure as Chairperson and putting forward the plight of women.

Mr. Salvador Valdes Mesa, on 27 January 2017, on the margins of the 28th Assembly of Heads of State and Government taking place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Chairperson and the Vice President discussed relationship between the African Union and Cuba.

Addis Ababa, 27 January 2017: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, strongly condemns the terrorist attack perpetrated this morning on an AMISOM camp at Kolbiyow, in Lower Juba, Somalia.

AMISOM troops have valiantly repulsed the attack by Al Shabaab terrorists who tried to storm the camp using Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIED). The AMISOM troops in the camp have since been reinforced and are currently undertaking a clearing and stabilization operation.
