إن الآلية الأفريقية لاستعراض الأقران، وهي كيان متخصص في الاتحاد الأفريقي، لديها تفويض لدعم البلدان الأفريقية في مجال وكالات التصنيف الائتماني. وكجزء من هذا التفويض، تجري الآلية الأفريقية لاستعراض الأقران مراجعات روتينية لنتائج التصنيف التي تحددها وكالات التصنيف الائتماني الدولية للبلدان الأفريقية. وقد لاحظت الآلية خفض التصنيف الائتماني السيادي للعملة الأجنبية طويل الأجل لجمهورية إثيوبيا من قبل وكالة فيتش بتاريخ 9 فبراير 2021 ، درجتين من (B) إلى (CCC).

We are meeting at an unprecedented moment in the history of the African Union.

Countries and societies around the world have been shaken to their foundations by a deadly and devastating pandemic.

This pandemic has been a stark reminder of both our vulnerability and our interconnectedness as a human race.

It has also demonstrated the value of our Pan-African ideals of unity, solidarity and cooperation to fulfill our common destiny.

Fortified by our unity, we have stepped up to the challenge.

Addis Ababa, 6 February 2021: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat welcomes the results of the vote by Libyan delegates of the United Nations-facilitated Libyan Political Dialogue (LPDF) that elected a transitional government authority to prepare and oversee national elections scheduled for 24 December 2021 in Libya.

The Chairperson wished to warmly congratulate the members of the new interim authority and encourages all stakeholders to support this historic step in the future for a new unified Libya.
