Addis Ababa, 28 January 2016: H.E. Dr. Aisha Laraba Abdullahi, Commissioner for Political Affairs of the African Union Commission met with Mr. Savas Metin, Secretary General of KismeYok Mu. He was accompanied by the Regional Director for Africa.
The Commissioner for Political Affairs welcomed Delegation and thanked them for their continuous visits to the Department of Political Affairs (DPA) of the African Union Commission (AUC). Dr. Abdullahi also thanked the Secretary General for the humanitarian aid provided the Saharawi Refugees in Algeria.
The Secretary General of KismeYok Mureiterated the commitment of his organization to support the Department of Political Affairs to fulfill its mandate in the area of humanitarian assistance. He also promised more support to the Sahrawi Refugees and urgent response to aid the victims of the drought in some African countries.
The Secretary General of KismeYok Mu also informed the Commissioner of the opening of new head office for his organization in Brussels.
The Commissioner also briefed the Delegation on “Project 2016” and its activities and programmes. 2016 has been declared as the Year of Human Rights in Africa with Special focus on the Rights of Women.
