Communique on the Arrival of the Chairperson to Berlin to participate at Conference on Libya.
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat arrived in Berlin, Germany today, to participate in the Conference on Libya, at the invitation of HE Angela Merkel , Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, to be held on Sunday 19 January 2020.
HE President Denis Sassou Nguesso, President of the Republic of Congo Brazzzaville, and Chairperson of the AU High-Level Committe on Libya, HE President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt and current Chairperson of the African Union, other state parties and international organisations, are also invited to the Conference.
The Chairperson of the Commission looks forward to reiterating the common African position for a Libyan-led political process and inclusive dialogue to end the crisis in the country.
