39th AU Summit Online Registration for Journalists Now Open

The Information and Communication Directorate (ICD) of the African Union Commission (AUC) hereby announces that the online registration for journalists interested to cover the 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the AU Heads of State and Government scheduled to take place from 11th - 15th February 2026, has been launched on the AU website. These two sessions will be preceded by that of the Permanent Representatives Committee.

Journalists are invited to register through the following link: https://accreditation.au.int/en/form/au-summit-accreditation

NB: Deadline for media registration: 31st January 2026.

Journalists are advised to keep checking this page, as it will be regularly updated with information and documentation necessary for their participation at the summit.

The meetings are scheduled to take place as follows:

12 – 30 January 2026: 51st Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee (PRC)
11 – 12 February 2026: 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council (Ministerial Session)
14 -15 February 2026: 39th Ordinary Session of the AU Assembly (Heads of State and Government Session)

Accredited Journalists will be able to cover all the open sessions physically at the African Union Headquarters, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Please note that any changes to the format of the meetings will be communicated on https://au.int/en/summit/39 as soon as they are known.
