ASSIGNMENT TITLE: CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR THE INTEGRATION OF QUICKBOOKS WITH SAP ERP

The African Union Commission has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the "Support for Capacity Development of the African Union Commission and Other African Union Organs Project (P126848)", and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

 

Development Objective of the Project (P126848): Strengthen African Union Commission’s capacity to facilitate economic development results and transformation through enhanced institutional efficiency. This will be achieved by enhancing the AUC's internal human resources and management systems, and supporting result-oriented external partnerships and collective actions designed to enhance the implementation of regional economic development initiatives in priority areas (e.g. regional trade, energy, infrastructure, governance, natural resource management) for the benefit of African Union member states, the Regional Economic Communities and African citizens.

 

Objective of the Consultancy Assignment

 

The main objective of this TOR is to source the service of a professional consultancy service provider that will be able to implement and integrate SAP ERP system with QuickBooks Enterprise Solution, to migrate all transactional data entered in Quick books to SAP ERP System. So we can generate financial statements and reports from SAP ERP system for AUC Head Quarters as well as all regional/liaisons offices. It will facilitate generation of consolidated financial statements at AU level.

 

Scope of the Assignment

 

  1. The targeted scope of integration/interface will cover 23 offices in different geographical locations globally.
  2. Develop and Implement a middle ware database acting as a staging data channel between Quick books (Source) and SAP (Destination).
  3. Develop and implement a middleware user interface for monitoring the data.
  4. Develop and implement a service to post data to the middleware and also from the middle ware to SAP in given time intervals.
  5. Provide adequate technical training and knowledge transfer to the key technical personnel and various users to ensure that they are able to manage, administer and use the implemented systems.
  6. Develop templates for data migration/conversion.
  7. Develop any custom reports to help monitor and control integration.
  8. Design, develop, demonstrate and document any workflow that may be required.
  9. Develop, provide and document monitoring and administrative tools.
  10. Design, develop and demonstrate methodology and technology to use for the data transfer process.
  11. Define connectivity requirements.
  12. Define, develop, demonstrate and document, full understanding of security considerations and firewall to mitigate security flaws.

 

Invitation to Firms

 

The African Union Commission now invites eligible consulting firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services.  Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services.   The shortlisting criteria are: (i) Core business and years in business; (ii) Qualifications and Specific experience in the field of the assignment; (iii) Technical and managerial organization of the firm; (iv) General qualifications and number of key staff. Consultants are requested to submit relevant information pertaining to the above four shortlisting criteria only.  

 

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers dated January 2011.  “Consultant Guidelines”, setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.  Consultants may associate with other firms in the form of a joint venture or a sub consultancy to enhance their qualifications.  A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the LCS method set out in the Consultant Guidelines.
