Gabonese appointed to chair Africa CDC Advisory and Technical Council
The Advisory and Technical Council of the Africa CDC appointed Dr. Antchouey Anne-Marie Ambourhouet Bigmann to chair its Advisory and Technical Council. The Advisory and Technical Council advises the Africa CDC on its strategic plans and activities, advocacy, and resource mobilization particularly regarding disease surveillance, detection, preparedness, and response on the African continent.
Dr. Antchouey Anne-Marie Ambourhouet Bigmann is currently the Director General in the Ministry of Health of Gabon. She is also Head of the Department of Medicine at Angondjé Chu in Libreville where she works part-time training and mentoring medical students and conducting clinical research. Before her current role in the Ministry, she served as Director of Medical Affairs of Angondjé Chu from 2011 to 2013 before being appointed Adviser to the Minister of Health in charge of Quality of Care and Medical Affairs.
Dr. Antchouey Anne-Marie trained at Cheikh Anta Diop University, the Montreal Heart Institute, and the University of Montreal in Canada and started practising in 1988 as a Cardiologist. She also holds a Master of Science in Health Administration Services.
