The African Union Development Agency-NEPAD has received financing from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the African Agri-Business Engine, and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for a Consultancy services for Events management (convening plenary meetings and working sessions) in 5 countries (Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania) in Potatoes, Rice, Soybeans, Horticulture and Sunflower value chains, respectively.

The services included under this consultancy are described below: 

  1. Develop roster of eight plenary meetings/work sessions; one meeting per quarter; for the duration of the AABE project. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, these meetings can be held virtually upon consultation with the Grow Africa and the African Development Bank teams
  2. Identify and secure venue for each plenary meeting/ work session and send ahead all necessary documentation.
  3. Provide secretariat services, capture high-level outcomes of the work sessions and convert them into messages that can be communicated on social media platforms.

The assignment will be undertaken in the following five countries: Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda and Tanzania, and will span over 21 months, with an estimated workload of 85 Full-time equivalent person-days. The estimated starting date is May 1, 2021.

The African Union Development Agency-NEPAD now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification. 

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s Procurement Framework for Bank Group-funded Operations, October 2015 edition.which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
