AUC Chairperson met with H.E. @alexstubb, President of Finland, on the margins of the Leaders’ Summit at #COP30
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, met with H.E. @alexstubb, President of #Finland, on the margins of the Leaders’ Summit at #COP30 in Belém, Brazil.
Their discussions focused on the peace & security situation, the continent’s development trajectory, & preparations for the upcoming AU–EU Summit in Angola & the 2026 AU Summit.
The Chairperson briefed President Stubb on the AU’s engagement in regional peace & security, with particular emphasis on Sudan & peace support operations in Somalia, as well as progress in regional integration under the AfCFTA & Agenda 2063.
President Stubb commended the African Union for its active role in regional diplomacy and development and reaffirmed Finland’s commitment to deepening its partnership with Africa.
