H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, received the Letters of Credence of H.E. Amjad Mohammad Saleh Al Moumani, Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia & Permanent Representative to the AU.

The Chairperson commended the constructive & prudent role of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in advancing peace & stability in the Middle East. He reiterated the AU's principled position calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities in the region & underscored the imperative of sustained diplomatic engagement towards a just, comprehensive, & durable peaceful resolution.

H.E. Amjad Mohammad Saleh Al Moumani expressed his appreciation to the Chairperson for the audience granted & reaffirmed his country’s high regard for the AU as a key multilateral partner.

The meeting further explored avenues for strengthening cooperation & coordination particularly in the areas of peace & security, as well as trade & economic cooperation.
