The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, this morning bid farewell to H.E. Amb. El Hadj Nounke Kaba, Ambassador of the Republic of #Guinea to Ethiopia & Permanent Representative to the AU, on the completion of his tour of duty.

The Chairperson commended Ambassador Kaba for his dedicated service & for advancing Guinea’s engagement with the AU & reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to sustaining democratic progress in Guinea, underscoring the country’s considerable natural and human capital as a foundation for accelerated economic transformation.

Ambassador Kaba expressed appreciation to the Chairperson & welcomed the renewed dynamism and strategic direction of the Commission, & assured of his country's close cooperation.

He further emphasized the need to expedite the operationalisation of the African Mineral Development Centre, noting the limited ratification of its legal instruments.
The Chairperson echoed the importance of intensified advocacy & Member State mobilisation, given the Centre’s strategic relevance to Africa’s mineral governance & sustainable development agenda.

The Chairperson extended best wishes to Ambassador Kaba in his future endeavours & reaffirmed the Commission’s readiness to welcome his successor.
