WHAT: The 79th World Health Assembly, under the theme: “Delivering Africa’s Big Push Together.”

WHEN: Tuesday, 19 May 2026

TIME: 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm (Geneva Time)

WHY: Africa continues to carry the overwhelming burden of global malaria cases and deaths, while facing increasing challenges, including climate-related shocks, declining health financing, humanitarian crises, insecticide and drug resistance, and rapid urbanization.
