Interpol Representative to the AU presents Credentials

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 17 February 2017: The outgoing Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, has received the credentials of the newly appointed Special Interpol Representative to the African Union, Mr. Francis Rwego. The credentials were presented on Friday, 17 February 2017, at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

In a brief exchange following the presentation of the credentials, the outgoing AU Commission Chairperson and the Special Interpol Representative discussed key areas of cooperation including the fight against organised crimes, such as drug trafficking, human trafficking and terrorism.

The Special Interpol Presentative paid tribute to the outgoing Commission Chairperson for her visionary leadership in handling the affairs of the Commission.

On her part, the outgoing Commission Chairperson congratulated the new Interpol Representative on his appointment and wished him the best during his tenure.
