His Excellency Edgar Chagwa Lungu, President of the Republic of Zambia signed three AU treaties at the headquarters of the African Union on 29 January 2016 titled,

- Agreement for the establishment of the African risk capacity (ARC) agency.
- African union convention on cyber security and personal data protection; and
- African charter on the values and principles of decentralization, local governance and local development.

At the end of the signing ceremony Vincent O. Nmehielle (Prof) The Legal Counsel/Director of the Legal Affairs handed the certified copies of the treaties to H.E. The President of Zambia.
