AU Commission Chairperson and Algerian Foreign Minister on continental issues

New York, USA, 25 September, 2014: African Union Commission Chairperson HE Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma discussed continental peace, security, development and the situation of the Ebola virus disease with Algerian Foreign Minister HE Ramtane Lamamra. They met in the sidelines of the 69th UN General Assembly in New York.

Dr. Dlamini Zuma and Minister Lamamra exchanged on the situation in Western Sahara, Libya, Mali, Central African Republic and others. They also talked about mega continental projects such as the high speed train, implementating the Yamoussoukro aviation decision on “Open Skies” and current initiative to boost Alternatives Sources of Funding.

Minister Lamamra refreshed the invitation of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika inviting Dr. Dlamini Zuma to visit Algeria. He noted that all was set to have the launch a branch of the Pan African University in Algeria, as recently approved the decision of the Heads of State and Government.
