On 16 November 2018, at the Headquarters of the African Union Commission, the President of the Republic of Tunisia, H.E Beji Caid Essebsi, mandated the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Khemaies Jhinaoui, to award the National Order of the Diplomatic Merit to Mr. Mourad Ben Dhiab, Secretary General of the African Union Commission.

The Minister commended Mr. Mourad’s dedication, noting his diplomatic experience in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the African Union Commission that qualified him for this honor from the President of the Republic of Tunisia.

The ceremony was attended by the Vice-President of the African Union Commission, H.E. Kwesi Quartey, and a significant number of Commissioners, Senior Officials and Directors, as well as the staff of the Tunisian Mission and Tunisian employees at the African Union.
