This report comprehensively explores the changing nature of violence in the 21st century. The report draws on comparative analysis to explore how countries might successfully manage to transition away from repetitive violence. There is much that will be of interest to DDR Practitioners. Chapter 5 stresses the importance of sequencing DDR and considering its role in the wider political and socioeconomic context and the report overall highlights the importance of regional and multi-sectoral approaches to violence reduction. It includes case examples drawn from a number of African contexts
