Background
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the education system in Africa requires all education stakeholders at global, continental, and country levels to come together to improve the resilience of Africa’s education systems and ensure continuous learning through innovative initiatives. There is a need to innovate in the provision and delivery of education services, and the digital revolution provides a unique opportunity to reimagine education and address the learning crisis.

The objective of this event will be to anchor education at the heart of the Africa-EU Strategy and the trilateral AU-EU-UNICEF partnership, with commitments to invest in the areas of access to quality education for all, including higher education and vocational training; equity and inclusion (leaving no child behind) and teaching and learning of 21st century skills and competences that respond to the needs of today’s local economies and life.
