Addis Ababa – 12 January 2016: The new Ambassador of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, H.E. Koffi Evariste Yapi, presented on Monday, 11 January 2016, his letter of credence to H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC).
The Ambassador expressed his willingness to continue the effort of his predecessor in strengthening the existing good relationship between his country and the African Union Commission under the leadership of H.E Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, so as to help the African Union overcome the multiple challenges facing the continent and to strengthen its voice on global issues.
The Chairperson of the AU Commission congratulated Ambassador Koffi Evariste Yapi for his appointment and wished him a successful tour of duty.
The Chairperson indicated to the newly appointed Ambassador that she counted on his contribution to the work of the African Union. She also expressed the wish that Ambassador Koffi will greatly learn from his collaboration with the African Union, especially as he assumes duty at the beginning of the preparations of the 26th African Union Summit scheduled at the end of this month.
Finally, the Chairperson paid tribute to the Leader and the government of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire for their continued support to the African Union Commission.
