AFRICAN PREPARATORY PROCESS TOWARDS THE UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT (RIO+20)

The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) / (RIO+20) is scheduled to take place as follows:

Dates: 20 -22 June 2012

Venue: Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

Objective: Support the African Preparatory process towards Rio+20

Themes: the conference will focus on two themes:

i) A green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication;

ii) The institutional framework for sustainable development

Scheduled dates for the meetings of different RIO+20 activities will be as follows:

13-15 June 2012 3rd Preparatory Committee Meeting of UNCSD
16-19 June 2012 Dialogue on Sustainable Development
19 June 2012 Africa Day
20-22 June 2012 UN Conference on sustainable Development (RIO+20)
