          H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

        الجمهورية الجابونية توقع على ثلاث معاهدات للاتحاد الأفريقي في نيامي

        05 يوليو 2019 ، نيامي ، النيجر: بمناسبة الدورة العادية الخامسة والثلاثين للمجلس التنفيذي، المنعقدة في الفترة من 04 إلى 5 يوليو 2019 ، وقعت جمهورية الجابون على المعاهدات التالية: معاهدة الاتحاد الأفريقي حول التعاون عبر الحدود (اتفاقية نيامي) وبروتوكول الميثاق الأفريقي لحقوق الإنسان والشعوب بشأن حقوق كبار السن وبروتوكول الميثاق الأفريقي لحقوق الإنسان والشعوب بشأن حقوق الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة في أفريقيا.

        اعتمدت معاهدة الاتحاد الأفريقي بشأن التعاون عبر الحدود (اتفاقية نيامي) في يناير 2014. وبتوقيع جمهورية الجابون ، يصل عدد الدولة الموقعة عليها إلى سبعة عشر دولة وصادقت عليها خمس دول أعضاء في الاتحاد الأفريقي. ستدخل الاتفاقية حيز التنفيذ عند إيداع التصديق الخامس عشر.

        اعتمد بروتوكول الميثاق الأفريقي لحقوق الإنسان والشعوب حول حقوق كبار السن في يناير 2016. في التاريخ الحالي ، شهدت المعاهدة اثني عشر توقيعًا وتصديقاً واحداً فقط ، حيث تتطلب 15 تصديقاً لدخولها إلى حيز التنفيذ.

        اعتمد البروتوكول الملحق بالميثاق الأفريقي لحقوق الإنسان والشعوب بشأن حقوق الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة في أفريقيا في يناير 2018 ووقَّعت عليه أربعة بلدان من بينها جمهورية الجابون.

        جرى حفل التوقيع بحضور السفيرة الدكتورة نميرا نجم ، المستشار القانوني للاتحاد الإفريقي، التي يتولى مكتبها تلقي إيداع الصكوك القانونية والمفوض بضمان التوقيع على وثائق الاتحاد الأفريقي والتصديق عليها وإضفاء الطابع المحلي عليها.
