The aim of the Mainstreaming Initiative is to reduce the incidents of human trafficking and migrant smuggling in Member States of the AU-Horn of Africa Initiative.
Objectives
The overall objective of the Mainstreaming Initiative is to enhance the capacity of law enforcement agents of Member States of the AU-HoAI in combating human trafficking and migrant smuggling.
The specific objectives of the Mainstreaming Initiative include the following:
i) Develop a training curriculum/modules on combating human trafficking and migrant smuggling;
ii) Integrate the training curriculum/modules on combating human trafficking and migrant smuggling for integration in the training of training academies of law enforcement agencies of the AU-HoAI;
iii) Develop a framework for monitoring and evaluating the delivery and impact of the mainstreamed training curriculum/modules on combating human trafficking and migrant smuggling;
iv) Monitor and evaluate the delivery and impact of the mainstreamed training curriculum/modules on combating human trafficking and migrant smuggling.
