25 January 2023, Addis Ababa: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat, expresses his shock at the murder of Thulani Maseko, a human rights lawyer, in the Kingdom of Eswatini.

In this regard, the Chairperson fully supports the statement of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Organ Troika, including the call to the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini to conduct a full and transparent investigation into the brutal killing.

The Chairperson extends his sincere condolences to the family, friends and collegues of the late Thulani Maseko.
