H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, received H.E. @ymahmoudali, Chairperson of the African Union Commission and his delegation, this evening in Doha. The meeting forms part of the AUC Chairperson’s ongoing consultations with key strategic partners to deepen cooperation and promote shared values in economic cooperation, preventive diplomacy and mediation.

H.E. Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to strengthening its ties with the African Union and its member states, particularly in the areas of trade, diplomacy, security cooperation, and support for African-led peacekeeping and mediation efforts, particularly in the Horn of Africa, Sahel, and Libya.

Chairperson Youssouf commended Qatar’s longstanding contributions to global conflict resolution and economic cooperation, and welcomed enhanced collaboration to address common challenges and foster mutual prosperity.
