The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, extends his warmest congratulations to the Government and people of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria on the occasion of their Independence Day.

He pays tribute to the unwavering courage and immense sacrifice of the Algerian people in their historic struggle for freedom, dignity, and self-determination. Algeria’s liberation remains one of Africa’s most powerful symbols of resistance against colonialism and a cornerstone of the continent’s broader liberation movements.

H.E. Youssouf also underscored Algeria’s enduring role as a pillar of African solidarity, Pan-Africanism, and multilateralism. He commended Algeria’s steadfast contributions to peace, regional integration, and the advancement of Africa’s Agenda 2063.

May this anniversary continue to inspire all Africans to remain united in the pursuit of sovereignty, prosperity, and shared progress.
