    Invitation for Sale of Obsolete/USED Items
    09/PTSD/16

    The African Union Commission in Addis Ababa invites from interested individuals a closed bid for the purchase of the following seven Lots of used items, the details of which are given below;
    S/N DESCRIPTION Qty REMARKS
    1 UPS 1-116 Various Quantities through Internal bidding /Staff Members
    2 Household Equipment & Furniture 1-45 Public Open bidding-10%bid security
    3 TV sets & Tape Recorder 1-38 Public Open bidding-10% bid security
    4 Computers (CPU, DISPLAY,KEYBOARD AND MOUSE ) 101-260 Internal bidding/staff members

    Instruction to Bidders:
    1. The Items are being sold on the condition of “as is”, “where is”, and without recourse or warranties of any kind.
    2. Bidders may bid for a single item or multiple items
    3. Interested bidders may see the items daily from 10:00am – 11 am until the deadline of the bid submission date.
    4. Bid prices must be submitted separately for each Item AUC will not consider any lump sum offer. Any such bid shall be automatically disqualified.
    5. The enclosed Bid Form shall be filled and submitted separately for each Item in a sealed envelope addressed to : Head, Procurement, Travel and Stores Division; The Chairperson, AUC Tender Board, African Union Commission, Building C, 3rd Floor, TENDER BOX , Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and must be delivered by hand before the deadline for the submission of bids.
    6. The Currency of the bid and the figures shall be clearly indicated in order to avoid ambiguity. The prevailing rate of currency exchange on bid opening date shall be used. Bids that do not fulfill this requirement will be disqualified.

    7. Bids must be accompanied with a bid bond of 10% (ten percent) of the bid amount in the form of CPO to AFRICAN UNION COMMISSION. The bid bond will be returned to unsuccessful bidders after completion of the bid process.
    8. The Items will be sold to the bidder with the highest offer. In case of achieving the same price; priority will be given to the bidder with the earlier submitted bid for this notice.
    9. The deadline for the submission of bids is 15:00 hours (local time) on 15th June 2017. All bids must be registered on delivery. The Outer cover shall be clearly marked “PURCHASE OF USED ITEMS No……”
    10. Bids received after the closing date will be automatically rejected.
    11. The successful bidder shall be notified by a letter of award and request for payment to the commission within 5 business days. The Items must be removed from the premises of the African Union Commission within 3 business days after payment.
    12. If the winning bidder fails to pay the winning amount or remove the Items with in the specified dates after payment, the bidder shall forfeit the entire Bid bond and Commission may dispose of the Items in any way it sees fit.
    13. The African Union Commission will not provide any assistance, either mechanical or manpower, for the removal of the Items and shall not be held responsible for any damages caused during the removal.
    14. The winning bidders are responsible for any statutory fees required while transferring ownership.
    15. The Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
