The Black History Month celebration is being led by African Diaspora youth groups that come from diverse educational and career backgrounds. The event will highlight innovative concepts and ideas using current technology. This allows everyone who attends to connect with the spirit of Pan-Africanism around the world and build the momentum of African brotherhood and sisterhood.

One of the mandates of the AU is to engage African Diaspora. The specific goal for the AU through the Diaspora division is to build a global African family. This will ensure the participation of the African Diaspora in the integration of the development agenda for the Continent. Of particular importance is the AU Chairperson’s initiative for Africa’s youth development “One Million Youth.”
