Women of excellence; African women feted for their relentless liberation struggles and outstanding contribution to development in the continent.
29th September 2018, South Africa; The African Union, is in the process of erecting a historic monument and African women’s sculpture garden at its Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as a symbolic gesture for the great contributions that women of Africa and those in the Diaspora, have made in the liberation struggles against apartheid and colonialism, and the role they continue to play in the development of the Continent.
The Economic, Social, and Cultural Council of the African Union (ECOSOCC) was established under the provision of Articles 5 and 22 of the AU Constitutive Act. Its Statutes, adopted by the AU Assembly in July 2004, define it as an advisory organ composed of different social and professional groups of AU Member States.

أديس أبابا - 29 يونيو 2018: وافق رئيس مفوضية الاتحاد الافريقي السيد موسى فقي محمد، على نشر بعثة مراقبة انتخابات تابعة للاتحاد الافريقي في جمهورية زيمبابوي ، حيث تستعد البلاد لعقد انتخابات رئاسية وبرلمانية وانتخابات المجالس المحلية ، في 30 يوليو 2018.
رئيس الاتحاد الإفريقي كاغامي ومفوض الاتحاد الأوروبي ميميكا يترأسان الحدث الجانبي المشترك للاتحاد الافريقي والاتحاد الأوروبي حول "المرأة في السلطة" ، خلال قمة الاتحاد الإفريقي الحادية والثلاثين في موريتانيا.
هدف الحدث إلى إجراء حوار رفيع المستوى بين أفريقيا وأوروبا حول دور المرأة كمحرك رئيسي للتنمية السياسية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية ، وتعميق الالتزامات القائمة في هذا المجال.

بدء الاعتماد الالكتروني للصحفيين
تود إدارة الاعلام والاتصال بالاتحاد الافريقي أن تعلن عن بدء عملية الاعتماد الالكتروني للصحفيين والتغطية الاعلامية للقمة الحادية والثلاثين للاتحاد الافريقي ، المقرر عقدها من 25 يونيو إلى 2 يوليو 2018 ، في نواكشوط ، موريتانيا ، على موقع الاتحاد الافريقي: www.au.int
The African Union Commissioner for Infrastructure, Energy and Tourism, H.E. Dr. Amani Abou-Zeid said that the Tourism industry employs over 21 million people in Africa, hence accounting for 6.5 per cent of the total work force in the African continent.
The Commissioner made her remarks at the 61st United Nations World Tourism Organization Commission for Africa, Conference, in Abuja held under the theme “Tourism Statistics: A Catalyst for Development” from 4 to 6 June 2018.
