H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

The African Union and the Africa Leadership Foundation (ALF) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) towards, “Operationalizing joint programmes to enhance credibility in the management of elections and the advancement of good governance, peace and security in Africa”.
On 6 October 2021, the Republic of Chad became the sixteenth (16th) member state to deposit the instrument of ratification of the African Medicines Agency (AMA). The Republic of Chad ratified the Treaty on the 19 August 2021 in N’Djamena, Chad.

The African continent is making headway in the fight against malaria among young children.
