It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

Following an invitation from the Government of the Republic of Mozambique to the African Union to participate as international observer in its forthcoming presidential, parliamentary and provincial elections scheduled for 15 October 2019, His Excellency Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), approved the deployment of a pre-election assessment mission to Mozambique.
Addis Ababa, 27 July 2019: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, welcomes the initiative of the Government and stakeholders in Cameroon to resolve, through dialogue, the crisis in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon.
The Chairperson encourages all parties to engage in this path in a spirit of compromise with a view to reach a political solution, and put the national interest of the country above all other considerations.
The African Union in partnership with GIZ and IOM will award media personalities
with the best pitch stories to change the narrative of the continent.
The winner will recived $2000 facilitate the development of these stories.

Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), the Eighth General Cooperation Meeting between the African Union Commission and the League of Arab States (LAS) was held on 22 July 2019 at the headquarters of the AUC in Addis Ababa, under the co-chairmanship of H.E. Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chairperson of AUC and H.E. Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, with the participation of senior officials from both organizations.
