With over 75% of Africa’s 1.2 billion inhabitants under the age of 35, and 453 million Africans aged 15- 35, it goes without saying that the development outcomes of Africa’s young people have a significant and lasting effect on the continent’s trajectory. The challenges Africa faces in education, employment, health, and governance are most acutely felt by Africa’s youth.

The launching ceremony was held at the margins of the ongoing at the ongoing 73rd Ordinary Session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights, and the 35th anniversary since the Commission was established.

The 73rd Ordinary Session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights has kicked off, setting the pace for deliberations on issues of human rights and engagement with various stakeholders on the human rights situation in Africa, its relationship and cooperation with National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) and Specialized Institutions, as well as with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), granted Observer Status. The 20-day Session kicked off on the 21st October 2022 and is scheduled to run all through to the 9th November 2022.
