Nairobi, Kenya March 1, 2022:  The 7th edition of Africa’s premier infrastructure event for the Program for Infrastructure Development in Africa, (PIDA) Week has begun on 28th February in the Kenya capital, Nairobi. Under the theme ‘Putting Africa on a Firm Footing for Recovery, Growth, and Resilience through Infrastructure’, the conference aimed at assessing and tracking the status of financial investments in infrastructure development in Africa.

The Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU) will hold its fourth open session on youth, peace and security on 3rd March 2022 on the progress made in the implementation of the Continental Framework for Youth, Peace and Security and its 10-Year Implementation Plan. The PSC will also officially welcome the second cohort of African Youth Ambassadors for Peace (AYAPs), who were selected following a competitive process in November 2021 and endorsed by the 35th Ordinary Session of the AU Heads of State and Government in February 2022.

24 February 2022, Addis Ababa: The current Chair of the African Union and President of Senegal, president Macky Sall, and the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, express their extreme concern at the very serious and dangerous situation created in Ukraine.

They call on the Russian Federation and any other regional or international actor to imperatively respect international law, the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of Ukraine.
