Djibouti, 27 February 2018 – Members of the observers mission of the African Union (AU) to the February 13 Legislative Elections in Djibouti were privileged to visit Lake Assal , identified as one of the wonders in the world and situated at the western end of the Gulf of Tadjoura in the Tadjoura Region, towards the Dikhil Region. They also admired the symbolic monuments including the “Palais du Peuple” and other historical attraction sites in the country, during the field trips in the different districts to observe the elections.

Dans le cadre des élections législatives du 23 février 2018 à Djibouti, le Président de la Commission de l’Union Africaine (UA), Son Excellence Monsieur Moussa Faki Mahamat, y a dépêché une Mission d’Observation Electorale aux fins de suivre et d’évaluer le déroulement du processus électoral. Cette Mission d’Observation Electorale fait suite à une mission d’évaluation pré-électorale de l’Union africaine qui a séjourné dans le pays du 25 octobre au 4 novembre 2017.

Djibouti, 18 February 2018 – H.E Mr. Anicet-Georges Dologuélé, former Prime Minister of the Central African Republic is leading the Election Observation Mission of the African Union (AU) to the legislative elections of February 23, 2018 in the Republic of Djibouti. Upon his arrival in the Djiboutian capital on Saturday 17 February 2018, he was welcomed by the Representative of the Government authorities and the technical team put in place by the Democracy and Electoral Assistance Unit (DEAU) of the AU Department of Political Affairs.
