Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E. Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, was appointed to lead the AU institutional reforms process. He appointed a pan-African committee of experts to review and submit proposals for a system of governance for the AU that would ensure the organisation was better placed to address the challenges facing the continent with the aim of implementing programmes that have the highest impact on Africa’s growth and development so as to deliver on the vision of Agenda 2063.

Addis Abeba, 21 April 2019: As a follow-up to the communiqué on the situation in the Sudan adopted by the Peace and Security Council of the African Union on 15 April 2019, the Chairperson of the Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, concluded, today, a 48 hours working visit to Khartoum.
Addis Ababa, 18 April 2019: The task force met on 16 April 2019 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The meeting follows the latest developments in Libya and the escalating conflict in Tripoli. The meeting, which was chaired by the Special Envoy of the Chairperson and Commissioner for Social Affairs, H.E.
Both sides shared views on cooperation between Africa and New Zealand in the domain of Governance, Democracy, Human Rights, Economic Empowerment of Women and Youth, Agriculture and Sport. Our discussions also focused on the AfCFTA and attaining the aspirations of Agenda 2063.
