The African Union Commission launches the first Africa Industrialization Week to Promote Regional Value Chains Development in Africa
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 21 November 2018. The Department of Trade and Industry of the African Union Commission is organizing the inaugural Africa Industrialisation Week (AIW) under the theme “Promoting Regional Value Chains in Africa: A Pathway for Accelerating Africa’s Structural Transformation, Industrialization and Pharmaceutical Production”. The event is being hosted in conjunction with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and other key stakeholders including a consortium of Development Cooperating Partners (DCPs).

Partnership for Digital Identity Launched
Addis Ababa, 18 November 2018: The African Union Commission and the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) organized today a High Level breakfast meeting on Digital Identity on the margins of the 11th Extraordinary Assembly of the African Union (AU).
The overall objective of the meeting was to spearhead the advocacy for a continental framework on Digital ID and provide technical inputs to the discourse on Digital ID on the continent, define and shape standards for Digital ID in Africa.
