Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 12 April 2018: The African Union Commission and the Council of Europe jointly organized a workshop on cyber security and cybercrime policies today at the African Union Headquarters for African Diplomats based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as part of the ongoing collaboration between the two institutions.

Addis Ababa, 14 April 2018: The Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union, Moussa Faki Mahamat, undertook a visit to South Africa on 11 and 12 April 2018, during which he met with President Cyril Ramaphosa, to discuss a wide range of issues linked to continental priorities. He took the opportunity to reiterate his condolences following the death of Winnie Mandela.

Addis Ababa, 11 April 2018: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, has learned with deep sadness the news of the airplane crash that occurred today in the Algiers area, causing many victims. This tragedy afflicts not only Algeria, but also the whole continent.

On this sad occasion, the Chairperson of the Commission expresses the deepest condolences of the African Union and his own to the people and the Government of Algeria, as well as to the bereaved families. He assured them of the full solidarity and compassion of the African Union.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 10 April 2018: The African Union Commission has made its foray into the cyber world by officially unveiling its online Knowledge Management (KM) platform of the African Internet Governance Forum (AfIGF).

The Knowledge Management platform has been set up in response to the overwhelming request of the African Internet stakeholders especially during the 6th African and the Global Internet Governance Forums (IGF) held in December 2017 in Egypt and Switzerland respectively.
