The Directorate of Information and Communication (DIC) of the African Union Commission (AUC) hereby announces that, the online accreditation process for journalists and the media coverage of the 29th AU Summit, scheduled to take place from the 27th June to the 4th July 2017, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, has been launched on the AU website: www.au.int.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 20 April 2017- The African Union Commission Deputy Chairperson H.E Mr Kwesi Quartey has urged Africa to practically demonstrate its unity by putting its support behind the candidates endorsed for positions within the international system. He called on Africa to vote as one united bloc to increase its chances of winning.

AU condolences with Ethiopia following garbage landslide

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia –13 March 2017: The outgoing Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, sends her deepest condolences to the government and people of the Federal Democratic Republic Ethiopia following a landslide which claimed about 50 lives on Sunday, 12 March 2017.

The landslide which claimed the lives of 46 people took place at a dumping site in the outskirts of Addis Ababa, burring make shift homes and concrete buildings.
