Addis Ababa, 6th June 2017- The African Union Commission in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP) and the Government of Kenya, has held the Third Continental Consultation on Home Grown School Feeding in Africa. The objective of the meeting was to strengthen national school feeding programmes across the continent as a key instrument for enhancing access, retention and performance in education in Africa.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 07 April 2017: The African Union Commission’s Department of Political Affairs in close collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, commemorated today the 23rd Anniversary of the Rwanda Genocide under the theme “Remember the Rwanda Genocide-Fight Genocide Ideology-Build on our Progress”.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia –13 March 2017: The outgoing Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, sends her deepest condolences to the government and people of the Federal Democratic Republic Ethiopia following a landslide which claimed about 50 lives on Sunday, 12 March 2017.

The landslide which claimed the lives of 46 people took place at a dumping site in the outskirts of Addis Ababa, burring make shift homes and concrete buildings.
