H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

The Ministerial Executive Leadership Program (MELP) is a groundbreaking flagship initiative of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) designed to strengthen the capacities of Health Ministers through the key pillars of Leadership, Collaboration, Innovation, and Transformation towards achieving a healthy Africa.
On the sidelines of the 38th African Union (AU) Summit, this high-level platform will focus on strengthening innovative partnerships to sustain and expand the Peace Fund.
The African Union Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) hosted its Civil Society Pre-Summit Symposium ahead of the 38th AU Summit , bringing together Civil Society Organizations, policymakers, International NGOs, scholars, and youth to discuss the 2025 African Union’s Theme of the Year: “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations.”
