Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, November 26, 2018: The African Union (AU) High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa, Honorable Raila Odinga, has urged African countries to treat the implementation of Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM) as a matter of emergency.

Honarable Odinga made the remark on Monday at a Parallel Session on SAATM on the sidelines of the PIDA Week 2018 taking place in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe from November 26 to 29, 2018.

We, the International Election Observer Missions present for the 30 July Harmonised Elections in Zimbabwe, while appreciating the generally peaceful and orderly pre-electoral environment and on voting day, express our grave concern about the regrettable outbreaks of post-election violence.

At the outset, we extend our sympathies to the families and loved ones of those affected by these troubling incidents.

While recognising the right to peaceful protest, we condemn vandalism and destruction of property and call on political party supporters to abide by the law.

Harare, 1 August 2018- H.E. Hailemariam Dessalegn Boshe views with concern the unfolding post-election developments in Zimbabwe, and calls on all stakeholders, particularly political leaders and their supporters, to exercise restraint and avoid violent confrontation. He also calls on security agencies to equally exercise restraint and ensure the safety of all citizens.

H.E Hailemariam Dessalegn Boshe reiterates his statement released on 1 August 2018, in which he called on any aggrieved parties to channel their grievances through appropriate legal channels.

Harare, Zimbabwe 25 July 2018- With five days to go before the Zimbabwean harmonized presidential, legislative and local council elections are held on 30th July, the African Union Election Observation Mission (AUEOM) has been officially launched by its head, former Ethiopian Prime Minister Mr. Haile Mariam Desalegn. The AUEOM comprises a long term observation mission (LTO) and a short term observation mission (STO).
