Weekly Press Briefing on Coronavirus Disease Outbreak in Africa

Thursday’s briefing will focus on the ongoing debate about the Omicron variant and what are the scientific facts so far. There will also be highlights on the upcoming conference happening in Rwanda next week to give update about progress on vaccine manufacturing in Africa.

This briefing is a weekly engagement of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) with the media to share critical updates on the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic in Africa

Thursday’s briefing will highlight the evolving changes of the pandemic across the continent and focus on encouraging signs of increase in the number of available vaccines being distributed to Member States.
